The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) and Myer brought high fashion and glamour to Flemington this evening, hosting a black-tie dinner to officially celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Fashions on the Field competition.

Hosted by Australian media personality Jacqui Felgate, the sold-out gala dinner celebrated the last six decades of fabulous fashion at Flemington, with VRC Chairman Neil Wilson talking to both the history and future of the competition as it readies itself for a new era.

Guests were treated to multiple sensory and interactive fashion experiences, including a showcase of the latest Myer spring fashion, with Myer ambassadors Tayla Damir and Kris Smith walking alongside a diverse cast of models in the showcase titled Light Spectrum, The Australian Colour Story.

VRC Chairman Neil Wilson said the VRC and Myer Gala Dinner was a fitting celebration.

“The Victoria Racing Club and major partner Myer were delighted to officially celebrate the 60th anniversary of the iconic Fashions on the Field competition at Flemington,” Mr Wilson said.

“We all know Cup Week is globally synonymous with fashion and over the years we have seen so many special moments.

“The Gala dinner was a wonderful opportunity for us to dress in our finest and to be together to celebrate this milestone and remember the last six decades of some of the incredible fashion seen here at Flemington.  It was great to hear the stories our members, partners and guests had of their favourite fashion memories.”

Myer brands on show included Cue, sass & bide, Mossman, Elliatt, MJ Bale, Dom Bagnato, Calvin Klein, Collection and Blaq, with guests able to shop the Myer runway on the night with all of the outfits and accessories available to purchase by scanning the QR code.

VIP guests included 2022 Melbourne Cup Carnival Ambassadors Christian Wilkins, Demi Brereton and Aaron Mitchell, VRC Ambassadors Crystal Kimber and Amanda Ross, actor Tim Kano, social influencer Olivia Molly Rogers and shoe designer Lana Wilkinson.

As part of the event, VRC members and guests were also treated to a spectacular performance from #1 Aria top-charting artist Dami Im while DJ Chloe Wilson and SWEET MIX KIDS kept the party going into the night.

Spring racing returns to Flemington this weekend with Sofitel Girls’ Day Out on Saturday 10 September.
