One of those still in the running is the Edward Cummings’ trained mare, Duais. The Cummings family name is one that is steeped in tradition and the dynasty continues to thrive with Edward Cummings and Duais on the road to this year’s Lexus Melbourne Cup. His grandfather and Hall of Fame trainer, Bart Cummings won a record twelve Melbourne Cups and Edward is looking to forge his own path, etching his name into the history books. The hours are long, and the preparation timed to perfection every step of the way.
