Internationals step out at Werribee

14 October 2022 Written by VRC

The second shipment of international horses targeting the Lexus Melbourne Cup stepped out for a stretch of the legs at Werribee this morning.

Gai Waterhouse was on the scene, delighted with her charge Hoo Ya Mal, who she will train in partnership with Adrian Bott, looking to secure her second Melbourne Cup success. The Northern-hemisphere three-year-old was explosive in his Group 3 March Stakes (2800m) victory at Goodwood.

JD Hayes was equally pleased with the condition of ex-Irish stayer Camorra. The son of Zoffany continued his light work this morning, with the Hayes team looking ramp up his work this weekend in preparation for the first Tuesday in November.

Deauville Legend, Without A Fight and Loft were all out on the course proper for a trot and canter after the long journey from Europe. See all the internationals under saddle at the Werribee International Horse Centre.
