2024 Australian Racehorse of the Year Awards: Celebrating Excellence
The Australian Racehorse of the Year awards celebrated the standout achievements of the 2023/24 racing season, honouring the finest horses, trainers, jockeys, and sires in the sport.
Held at Morphettville Racecourse on October 8, Pride Of Jenni emerged as the star of the night, claiming both the coveted Australian Racehorse of the Year and Champion Middle Distance Horse titles after a season defined by stunning Group 1 victories.
The awards also recognised Without A Fight for his staying prowess, Broadsiding as the standout two-year-old, and a range of other exceptional performances from both equine and human participants, solidifying their place in racing history.
Chris Waller extended his incredible streak, winning Champion Group 1 Trainer for the 12th consecutive year, cementing his place as a dominant force in Australian racing.

Awarded for her remarkable performances throughout the season, including wins in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Empire Rose Stakes, and Champions Mile.
Champion Middle Distance Horse of the Year
Pride Of Jenni
Claimed the title after defeating Mr Brightside, Romantic Warrior, and Fangirl.
Champion Stayer of the Year
Without A Fight
Recognised for his victories in both the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups, the first to complete the Cups double since Ethereal in 2001.
Champion Two-Year-Old
Broadsiding
Earned the title with Group 1 wins in the JJ Atkins and Champagne Stakes.
Champion Three-Year-Old Filly
Stefi Magnetica
Secured the honour following her victory in the Stradbroke Handicap.
Champion Three-Year-Old Colt/Gelding
Riff Rocket
Posthumously awarded for wins in the Victorian Derby, Rosehill Guineas, and Australian Derby.
Champion Sprinter
Imperatriz
Dominated the sprinting category with five Group 1 victories, including the VRC Champions Sprint and Black Caviar Lightning Stakes.
