VRC Executive team complete with three new appointments

The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) is pleased to announce it has finalised its new Executive team following the appointment of industry leaders to run the finance, commercial and operations departments.

Tania Abbotto (Chief Operating Officer), Fran Vavallo (Chief Commercial Officer) and Adam Forsyth (Chief Financial Officer) will join existing Executives Leigh Jordon (Chief Racing Officer) and Nikki Clarkson (Chief Marketing Officer) to drive the next phase of the VRC strategy under Chief Executive Officer Kylie Rogers.

Rogers said the appointments not only complete a well-rounded and experienced leadership team but mark an exciting new chapter for the VRC.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tania, Fran and Adam to the VRC,” Ms Rogers said.

“Tania, Fran and Adam are all highly respected individuals and strong leaders with a proven track record of success in their respective fields. They each bring a skill set that compliments the current team and we look forward to collectively striving towards our vision to be a leader in world-class racing and experiences.”

Abbotto joins the VRC to lead its Property and Operations, Legal, Risk, People and Culture and Technology capabilities. A true enterprise leader, Abbotto has spent the last two decades driving customer growth, strategic alignment, culture and sustainable change in executive roles at Sportsbet, MACC Property Group, Coles and Optus.

“As a passionate Victorian, the opportunity to harness incredible talent, assets and capability at the VRC and make Flemington Place precinct the home of world-class racing and experiences for our members and partners is one I couldn’t look past.

I’m genuinely thrilled to join Kylie and the team to build an exciting future at the club,” Abbotto said.

Vavallo will oversee the VRC’s Customer, Commercial and Events departments, and brings more than 20 years’ experience developing high performance commercial teams within the media and sporting landscape, having held senior roles at World Rugby, Tennis Australia and Seven West Media.

Leading the club’s finance and procurement functions, Forsyth brings a wealth of experience having held similar roles at Brown Family Wine Group, Carlton & United Breweries and Treasury Wine Estates. Forsyth is a highly accomplished strategic finance leader who is experienced in driving efficient growth.

“I am excited to be joining the VRC at this stage of its proud history. I look forward to delivering great performance with the team,” Forsyth said.

Fran commences on Monday 14 April, Tania on Monday 28 April and Adam on Wednesday 30 April.
