Flemington Fareground all set for a spectacular Saturday

We raise the curtain on the Flemington Racing Spectacular this Saturday 4 March with Australian Guineas Day as the country’s top three-year-old’s compete over the mile for Group 1 glory and $1 million prizemoney. The day is also a drawcard for many racing fans with the $300,000 Group 2 Blamey Stakes (1600m) and the $750,000 Inglis Sprint (1200m).  

But it is also the action and entertainment off the track that has quickly become the attraction for many during the autumn racing season at Flemington as racegoers of all ages savour the delights on offer at The Flemington Fareground.

All about the Food

The leafy Elms area will be transformed into an outdoor extravaganza of gourmet food and drink stalls, wine tasting, live stage performances, activities and carnival rides. Some of Melbourne's favourite food trucks and local providores feature, including

• 400 Gradi
• Mary and a Little Lamb
• The Real OG Burgers

Or why not sample some of Australia's finest wines in the wine tasting stable; grab a gin cocktail in the Gin Garden, or simply take time out with a refreshing Furphy at a picnic table in the Furphy Bar.

For the Kids

The magic hits the Fareground Stage on Saturday as Magic Tony from TV’s WB Kids amazes us with his never-ending bag of tricks. And for the younger families, Paw Patrol will be taking the stage with their Ready For Action show… plus there will be a chance to meet some of the characters!

The Into the Wild area will also be a favourite among the kids as they get the opportunity to get up close with some of our native animals… and even get a snuggle or two!

And for our VRC Junior Members (aged 12-17), there’s a special Silent Disco at 2pm and a Hold Your Nerf competition at 3.30pm with a chance to win a $100 Ticketmaster voucher. With pony rides, face painting, side show games, carnival rides and a whole lot more – The Flemington Spectacular really is a special way for families to spend a day at the races.

For the Adults

While The Fareground will be a popular hangout for many during the day, the Front Lawn will once again be abuzz with a Punters Club, live music, reserved tables, and a one hour “Front Lawn After Party” at the end of the day. The airconditioned Saintly Place will be as popular as ever for sports lovers with cold drinks, food specials, live sport and racing, betting facilities, and bar sports providing all the comfort, fun and convenience you need trackside.

For the Members

We know many of our members love to arrive when the gates open and the special Half Price Happy Hour will be available on selected drinks until the jump of the first race. The dining areas will be buoyant with meals serving delicious seasonal produce and fine wines to full tables… and for those members looking to continue the celebrations after the last race, the Rooftop and the Mumm Champagne Bar will be the place to go.
