The four-day carnival hosted by the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) at the world-renowned Flemington Racecourse creates an atmosphere unparalleled by any other sporting event in Australia and celebrates all that Melbourne does best: world-class sport, fashion, entertainment and hospitality.
Racegoers can take advantage of early bird pricing until 30 June 2022, with General Admission tickets ranging from $42 on Kennedy Oaks Day to $62 for Lexus Melbourne Cup Day, while Adult ticket prices for all four days of the 2022 Carnival have been held at 2019 prices and children under 12 accompanied by an adult are admitted free of charge – a rarity for a major event.
For the first time ever for an event at Flemington, fans will be able to personally select their reserved seat within the Hill and Lawn Stands using the Ticketmaster Interactive Seat Map, choosing their preferred vantage point for Australia’s premier racing carnival. Reserved seats start at $51 for Paramount+ Stakes Day.

The Melbourne Cup Carnival is traditionally one of Victoria’s biggest sporting and cultural events, attracting more than 300,000 racegoers to Flemington and generating over $430 million for the Victorian economy each year.
VRC Chief Executive Officer Steve Rosich said after two years of crowd restrictions, the club is planning for this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival to be bigger and better than ever.
“Each year Cup Week creates history with new legends forged on the track and iconic moments that become part of Australian folklore off the track,” Mr Rosich said.
“Racegoers can be part of that history by securing their ticket for Cup Week 2022 – it is an incredible experience each and every year and we encourage everyone to take advantage of the early-bird offer.
“It is fantastic to see major events in Melbourne proceeding with capacity crowds, and we cannot wait to welcome back racegoers, including our valued VRC members, for a glorious 2022 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
“We are planning for this year’s Cup Week to be even more spectacular than racing fans remember, with old favourites and new innovations in entertainment and hospitality set to make Flemington Racecourse the place to be this spring.”
The 2022 Melbourne Cup Carnival commences with Penfolds Victoria Derby Day on Saturday 29 October, followed by Lexus Melbourne Cup Day on the first Tuesday of November on 1 November, Kennedy Oaks Day on Thursday 3 November and Paramount+ Stakes Day on Saturday 5 November.
The VRC welcomes families, with family packages now available and children under 12 accompanied by an adult admitted free of charge.
“The road to the Cup begins this Saturday at Flemington with a ‘golden ticket’ on offer in the Lexus Andrew Ramsden, offering a ballot exemption into the Lexus Melbourne Cup for the winning horse,” Mr Rosich said.
“It is fitting that racing fans can also now secure their ticket to Cup Week as the road to the Cup begins.”
