Millinery Competition 2023
Australia, VIC

I have been working as a full time milliner since 2015. All my pieces are designed and created by me in my Williamstown studio. My Grandmother was a milliner so I like to think it’s in my DNA! My millinery has featured on numerous catwalks, magazines and Fashions on the Field. I have had my work on stage as part of Melbourne Fashion Week and was one of three millinery pieces chosen by the Lord Mayor to be on display in Melbourne Town Hall and I’ve also have my pieces on display at the Governor General’s Melb Cup Eve function. I have worked in collaboration with Ooroo Australia, making millinery pieces featuring award-winning textiles from Aboriginal artists and talented emerging textile designers. In 2019/2020 I was President of the Millinery Association of Australia I am one of the in-house milliners at the annual pop up millinery store, The Hat Shop. I have judged millinery at many events. ——— My entry into the Lillian Frank AM MBE Millinery Award is inspired by my love of Australian native flora. I am particularly in love with red flowering gums and gum nuts and have recreated red flowering gums made from sinamay and crinoline for my 2023 entry piece. I hope you love her as much as I do!
